The HH3 Acty Van explained
HH3 is the van-bodied, rear-drive member of the second-generation Acty family, sold in Japan both as the Acty Van and, in more decorated form, as the Honda Street. The running gear is the truck's: a 656cc E07A laid flat under the rear floor. Because the engine is behind the passengers rather than beneath them, the cabin floor is flat and the load bay sits low over the rear axle.
The odometer has passed six figures at 102,600 miles, roughly 165,100 km. A kei engine of this family displaces 656cc and works harder per mile than a larger unit, which is simply how the class is engineered.
The configuration
An Acty van is the truck with a roof over the load bay, and because the engine lies beneath that bay rather than under the cab, the floor is flat from bulkhead to tailgate. Rear drive and an enclosed body make it a dry, lockable, square box on a vehicle you can park anywhere — which is the entire case for a kei van over a kei truck.
Under $5,000 buys an older Japanese van with a dry, lockable load bay — a fraction of what any comparable work van costs domestically, with the trade-off being age and the reading on the clock.
Getting it to you
A 1990 build date places this vehicle beyond the 25-year threshold that governs importing a non-US-market car into the United States. Customs entry, import documentation and title work are all done here, and we arrange transport to any state. A walkaround clip sits with the photographs on this page. The asking price is $4,800 — contact us to reserve it.
