Daihatsu Hijet for Sale

If a job exists on a Japanese farm or building site, Daihatsu has built a Hijet for it. The line has run since 1960 and covers the widest spread of bodies in the kei class: flat-bed trucks, panel vans, hydraulic dump beds, refrigerated boxes, scissor lifts and the extended-cab Jumbo, which trades a little deck length for room to recline the seats.

It is the body variety rather than the mechanical specification that makes the Hijet worth searching by name. The running gear is conventional for the class — a 660cc three-cylinder under the cab, rear drive, selectable four-wheel drive on a large share of imports — but the range of factory conversions behind that cab is not matched by any rival.
