About This 1999 Honda Odyssey
Up for sale: a 1999 Honda Odyssey L FWD, PW, PL, PS, PM, Automatic, Like New! — the paint is down as Black, brought in from the Japanese domestic market. It is fitted with an automatic transmission. The number on the plate is RA6-1000037.
The RA6 Odyssey, in context
The RA6 is the front-drive second-generation Odyssey of 1999 onwards, with Honda's 2.3-litre F23A four and a third row that folds flat into the floor — a packaging trick Honda introduced on this car and kept for decades afterwards. Like the first generation it is a low-slung seven-seater on passenger-car mechanicals, not a converted commercial van.
The odometer shows 3,728 miles, about 6,000 km as the Japanese-market instrument was marked. That is a low reading for a car of this kind coming out of the domestic fleet.

The practical side
The van body turns an open-deck commercial into a secure one. Load height, floor area and running gear stay the same as the equivalent truck; what changes is that the cargo is locked, dry and out of sight, which for tools or stock is usually the deciding factor.
Between $12,000 and $20,000 a Japanese van is being priced for a specific reason: a scarce specification, a passenger conversion, or a chassis that very few of came out of Japan. This is not the volume end of the market.
Next steps
At 1999 it is past the 25-year mark, which is the line that decides whether a Japanese-market vehicle can be imported at all. The paperwork side — import documentation and title — is our job, and we deliver anywhere in the US. It is listed at $18,995. Get in touch to put a hold on it.
