What the Minicab Truck is
Mitsubishi's Minicab of the 1990s is a conventional cab-over kei truck and van with the 657cc 3G83 three-cylinder under the cab floor. Mitsubishi was unusual in offering a factory power-take-off on the work specifications, which is what drives a tipper ram or a pump directly from the gearbox, and it supplied the same vehicle to Nissan to sell as the Clipper.
The clock reads 68,430 miles, roughly 110,100 km on the scale it was built with. Mitsubishi kei vehicles of this era turn up across a broad range of readings and this is squarely within it.
What the specification means
Mitsubishi set the Minicab up as a work vehicle more deliberately than most of its rivals, and a four-wheel-drive example is the specification that reflects that: an under-cab three-cylinder driving the rear axle, a selectable front axle, and on the work trims a factory power-take-off to run a tipper ram or a pump directly off the gearbox.
The $5,000 to $8,000 band is where most imported kei trucks sit, and it is where supply is deepest — which means the most choice of year, drivetrain and body style. Our price guide breaks down what moves a truck between bands.
Making it yours
At 1995 it is past the 25-year mark, which is the line that decides whether a Japanese-market vehicle can be imported at all. Customs entry, import documentation and title work are all done here, and we arrange transport to any state. The figure is $5,700, and a message is all it takes to put it aside.
