Background on the HA4 Acty
Built from 1990 until the Acty was redesigned in 1999, the HA4 pairs four-wheel drive with Honda's 656cc E07A triple, mounted under the load floor instead of under the seats. Honda engineered the whole second generation to the 3.30-metre kei length limit in force at the time, so the cab is pushed right to the front bumper. That packaging is the reason an Acty bed is usable at all on a vehicle this short.
The clock shows 52,000 miles — call it 83,700 km, since the instrument was marked in kilometres when it left Japan. That is mid-range for a Honda kei vehicle of this era arriving in the United States.
Reading the specification
What a 4WD Acty gives you over the two-wheel-drive version is a front axle you can bring in when the surface stops cooperating — wet grass, loose gravel, a muddy field gate. The rest of the truck is unchanged: the same mid-mounted engine beneath the bed, the same low flat deck, the same cab that starts at the front bumper.
Below $5,000 you are buying age and mileage rather than specification. What you get for it is a road-registerable vehicle with a real bed and a real cab for less than a decent side-by-side costs.
Buying this one
A 1997 build date places this vehicle beyond the 25-year threshold that governs importing a non-US-market car into the United States. You do not deal with the import paperwork; we do, and we organise delivery to your address. This listing carries a walkaround video as well as the gallery. Asking $4,480. Contact us and we will reserve it against your name.
