What the HA4 Acty is
HA4 is the four-wheel-drive Acty truck of 1990 to 1999 and the most numerous Acty on the US market. Honda put the 656cc E07A under the bed, nearly flat, and ran drive forward to the front axle from behind it — the opposite of almost everything else in the class. The result handles like a mid-engined vehicle, carries its load directly over the driven rear wheels, and keeps a completely flat deck floor because nothing is in the way of it.
Recorded mileage is 36,800, equivalent to roughly 59,200 km in the units the gauge reads. Honda's E07-series triples are small-capacity commercial engines designed for a long duty cycle, and readings in this part of the range are common across the Acty's export population.
What the specification means
A four-wheel-drive Acty takes its front drive from a transfer unit behind the mid-mounted engine and runs it forward beneath the cab. The arrangement is the reverse of a conventional truck, and it leaves the load bed completely unobstructed. For yard work, a smallholding or a site road, the useful part is that the driven rear axle carries both the engine and the payload.
The $5,000 to $8,000 band is where most imported kei trucks sit, and it is where supply is deepest — which means the most choice of year, drivetrain and body style. Our price guide breaks down what moves a truck between bands.
Ordering and delivery
Because it was built in 1997, the federal 25-year exemption applies and the usual FMVSS and EPA conformity requirements fall away. You do not deal with the import paperwork; we do, and we organise delivery to your address. This listing carries a walkaround video as well as the gallery. It is listed at $5,000.
