Minicab Dump: the short version
Mitsubishi's Minicab of the 1990s is a conventional cab-over kei truck and van with the 657cc 3G83 three-cylinder under the cab floor. Mitsubishi was unusual in offering a factory power-take-off on the work specifications, which is what drives a tipper ram or a pump directly from the gearbox, and it supplied the same vehicle to Nissan to sell as the Clipper.
Recorded at 33,690 miles, which is about 54,200 km. Mitsubishi's 3G83 three-cylinder ran in the Minicab for more than twenty years across two chassis generations, so it is a thoroughly proven unit in this application.
How this one is set up
The combination of a tipping bed and four-wheel drive is the one that actually earns its keep: the drive gets a loaded truck onto soft ground and the hydraulics empty it without anyone lifting a shovel. On a kei-class chassis the whole thing still parks in a single-car space, which is the reason these sell to landscapers and smallholders rather than to fleets.
Between $5,000 and $8,000 a factory dump-bodied kei truck is sensibly priced — the hydraulics are the part you are paying for, and a converter would charge most of this band to fit them to a flat-bed afterwards.
The buying process
A 1997 build date places this vehicle beyond the 25-year threshold that governs importing a non-US-market car into the United States. The paperwork side — import documentation and title — is our job, and we deliver anywhere in the US. Listed at $6,900 — tell us it is the one and we will take it off the market.
