Know the HA4 Acty
The HA4 is the 4WD member of Honda's second-generation Acty family, produced through the 1990s alongside the rear-drive HA3. Its 656cc E07A sits amidships and horizontal, which is why the bed is low and the cab has no engine tunnel. Honda used a part-time system on most HA4s, selected from the cab, so the truck runs in rear drive until the front axle is called on. Mechanically it is a simple, well-documented truck with wide parts support.
Recorded mileage is 45,100, equivalent to roughly 72,600 km in the units the gauge reads. Honda's E07-series triples are small-capacity commercial engines designed for a long duty cycle, and readings in this part of the range are common across the Acty's export population.
What it is for
A four-wheel-drive Acty takes its front drive from a transfer unit behind the mid-mounted engine and runs it forward beneath the cab. The arrangement is the reverse of a conventional truck, and it leaves the load bed completely unobstructed. For yard work, a smallholding or a site road, the useful part is that the driven rear axle carries both the engine and the payload.
This one is priced on enquiry rather than listed. Freight to your state is the main variable on a kei truck and we would rather quote it properly than publish a figure that turns out to exclude it — tell us where it is going and we will come back with the number.
The buying process
At 1998 it is past the 25-year mark, which is the line that decides whether a Japanese-market vehicle can be imported at all. We take care of the entry documents and the title, then arrange shipping to wherever you are. A walkaround video is included with this listing. There is no list price on this one. Send us a message with your location and we will put a figure to it.
