About This 1998 Mitsubishi Minicab
Among the Mitsubishi vehicles we currently hold is this 1998 Mitsubishi Minicab Truck, listed as Blue. Drive is 4WD, through a 5-speed manual transmission. Chassis U42T-0516919 on the identification plate.
About the U42T Minicab
U42T is the four-wheel-drive Minicab truck Mitsubishi built from 1991 to 1998, with the 657cc 3G83 three-cylinder beneath the cab. Work specifications of this chassis were offered with a two-speed transfer case and a crawler gear, and the Minicab was one of the few kei trucks sold with a factory power-take-off for driving a tipper or a pump. Mitsubishi also supplied this generation to Nissan as the Clipper.
Odometer: 75,000 miles, near 120,700 km. The 3G83 was Mitsubishi's standard kei commercial engine for two decades, which tells you what duty cycle it was engineered around.

A 4WD Minicab is a conventional cab-over kei truck with the front axle available on demand. What distinguishes the line is the hardware Mitsubishi offered around it — crawler gears, power-take-off provision and dump bodies fitted on the production line rather than by a converter afterwards.
Under $5,000 is the entry point for an imported kei truck in the United States, and it generally means an older vehicle with a higher reading on the clock rather than a compromised one. Our kei truck price guide sets out what separates the bands.
