The Carry Truck explained
The Carry Suzuki introduced in 1999 was built to the enlarged kei dimensions and moved the 657cc engine to fuel injection. The cab grew in both directions over the truck it replaced, which on a vehicle capped at 3.40 metres overall is the difference buyers actually notice. Work specifications continued with low-range transfer cases and locking rear differentials.
Odometer reading 53,277 miles, about 85,700 km. For a 660cc Suzuki commercial engine that is an unremarkable figure within the range these vehicles are exported at.
What it is for
Four-wheel drive on a Carry means a selectable front axle on a truck that is otherwise rear-driven from an engine beneath the cab. Suzuki sold more of these than anyone sold of anything else in the class, which matters in a practical way: the running gear is the best-documented and best-supported in the kei segment, and the trucks turn up with the widest range of factory work options.
Mid-band pricing on a kei truck generally reflects a sound, unremarkable specification — the four-wheel-drive, five-speed, flat-bed combination that the majority of buyers are looking for in the first place.
Next steps
A 1999 build date places this vehicle beyond the 25-year threshold that governs importing a non-US-market car into the United States. The paperwork side — import documentation and title — is our job, and we deliver anywhere in the US. Listed at $6,700 — tell us it is the one and we will take it off the market.
