The Acty Truck, in context
Honda built the Acty through the 1990s with its engine lying flat beneath the load bed instead of under the cab — the only kei truck of the decade laid out that way. Nothing sits between the driver's feet and the front bumper, and nothing interrupts the bed floor. The 656cc E07A triple drove the rear wheels, with four-wheel-drive versions taking their front drive from a transfer box behind the engine.
The clock shows 52,763 miles — call it 84,900 km, since the instrument was marked in kilometres when it left Japan. That is mid-range for a Honda kei vehicle of this era arriving in the United States.
Why this configuration
Four-wheel drive on a mid-engined Acty is an unusual arrangement and it has a practical consequence: the engine's mass already sits over the rear axle, and anything loaded into the bed sits on top of it. Weight goes where the traction is before the front axle is ever called on. The flat bed floor is a second consequence of the same layout, since there is no propshaft tunnel running under it.
Under $5,000 is the entry point for an imported kei truck in the United States, and it generally means an older vehicle with a higher reading on the clock rather than a compromised one. Our kei truck price guide sets out what separates the bands.
Making it yours
With a 1992 build year it clears the 25-year rule that applies to importing vehicles never sold new in the US. The paperwork side — import documentation and title — is our job, and we deliver anywhere in the US. Listed at $4,900 — tell us it is the one and we will take it off the market.
