About the U42T Minicab
U42T is the four-wheel-drive Minicab truck Mitsubishi built from 1991 to 1998, with the 657cc 3G83 three-cylinder beneath the cab. Work specifications of this chassis were offered with a two-speed transfer case and a crawler gear, and the Minicab was one of the few kei trucks sold with a factory power-take-off for driving a tipper or a pump. Mitsubishi also supplied this generation to Nissan as the Clipper.
Recorded at 46,394 miles, which is about 74,700 km. Mitsubishi's 3G83 three-cylinder ran in the Minicab for more than twenty years across two chassis generations, so it is a thoroughly proven unit in this application.
The configuration
A tipper with low range is a deliberate working combination. The hydraulic bed does the unloading; the second reduction in the transfer case does the climbing, so the truck can carry a full load up a slope at the pace the terrain allows. One without the other leaves half the job to the driver.
Tippers priced between $8,000 and $12,000 are generally carrying something beyond the bed itself — four-wheel drive, a later chassis, or a lower reading. The hydraulic gear on its own does not take a kei truck this far above the flat-bed price.
Paperwork and shipping
Because it was built in 1992, the federal 25-year exemption applies and the usual FMVSS and EPA conformity requirements fall away. You do not deal with the import paperwork; we do, and we organise delivery to your address. It is listed at $10,900. Get in touch to put a hold on it.
