Know the DD51B Carry Dump
DD51B is the four-wheel-drive, factory dump-bodied Carry of the 1990s — the DD51T chassis with a hydraulically tipping bed fitted on the production line. Because the conversion is Suzuki's own, the pump, the ram and the bed hinges are engineered to the chassis rather than bolted on afterwards. The 657cc F6A three-cylinder and the selectable four-wheel drive are unchanged from the flat-bed truck.
The instrument reads 77,800 miles, roughly 125,200 km on its original kilometre scale. The Carry has been built continuously since 1961 and its engines were designed around sustained commercial use.
What it is for
Four-wheel drive on a Carry means a selectable front axle on a truck that is otherwise rear-driven from an engine beneath the cab. Suzuki sold more of these than anyone sold of anything else in the class, which matters in a practical way: the running gear is the best-documented and best-supported in the kei segment, and the trucks turn up with the widest range of factory work options.
This one is priced on enquiry rather than listed. Freight to your state is the main variable on a kei truck and we would rather quote it properly than publish a figure that turns out to exclude it — tell us where it is going and we will come back with the number.
Paperwork and shipping
Because it was built in 1993, the federal 25-year exemption applies and the usual FMVSS and EPA conformity requirements fall away. We handle the import and title paperwork, and delivery is available to all fifty states. You can also watch the walkaround video above before deciding. We price this one on request — get in touch and we will send a quote.
