Background on the HA3 Acty
HA3 is the rear-drive Acty truck built from 1990 to 1999, the generation that moved to the 656cc E07A when Japan raised the kei displacement limit. E07A is a single-overhead-cam triple lying almost on its side beneath the bed, driving the rear wheels through a short propshaft. Without a front axle to feed, the HA3 is the lightest and simplest Acty of its era, and the one with the fewest moving parts to look after.
This one reads 93,900 miles, about 151,100 km. Honda built the mid-mounted E07 engine for commercial use rather than for a passenger car, and figures in the high five digits are routine across the generation.
What you are buying
A rear-drive Acty is the simplest version of an already simple truck: engine amidships under the bed, drive straight back to the rear wheels, no transfer case and no front driveshafts to maintain. Because the engine sits over the driven axle, it starts from a better traction position than a front-engined two-wheel-drive pickup does, and the bed floor is lower for having nothing beneath it.
Under $5,000 is the entry point for an imported kei truck in the United States, and it generally means an older vehicle with a higher reading on the clock rather than a compromised one. Our kei truck price guide sets out what separates the bands.
Ordering and delivery
Built in 1994, it sits the far side of the 25-year federal import cut-off. We take care of the entry documents and the title, then arrange shipping to wherever you are. A walkaround video is included with this listing. The figure is $4,120, and a message is all it takes to put it aside.
