A little context on the KS4 Sambar
KS4 denotes the selectable four-wheel-drive version of Subaru's fifth-generation Sambar, produced from 1990 until 1999. Its 658cc EN07 is an inline-four — unique in a class of three-cylinders — and it sits behind the rear axle under the bed floor, which puts the engine's mass where a kei truck most needs it. Subaru offered the EN07 in carburetted, fuel-injected and supercharged forms across the range.
Odometer: 35,700 miles, approximately 57,500 km. Subaru's EN07 is a 658cc inline-four rather than a triple, so it turns over with four smaller reciprocating masses than anything else in the class, and the model's surviving population covers a wide span of readings.
What the specification means
A four-wheel-drive Sambar is traction-biased before the front axle is even engaged, because Subaru put the engine behind the rear wheels. The rear tyres carry the engine's weight permanently, which is the thing Sambar owners single the truck out for — an empty kei truck bed is light, and the Sambar is the one that minds it least.
This one is priced on enquiry rather than listed. Freight to your state is the main variable on a kei truck and we would rather quote it properly than publish a figure that turns out to exclude it — tell us where it is going and we will come back with the number.
Paperwork and shipping
A 1996 build date places this vehicle beyond the 25-year threshold that governs importing a non-US-market car into the United States. The paperwork side — import documentation and title — is our job, and we deliver anywhere in the US. You can also watch the walkaround video above before deciding. Ask us for a price and include your delivery state; we will quote the vehicle and the transport together.
