What the Carry Truck is
The Carry is the oldest continuously produced nameplate in the kei truck class, running since 1961, and the 1990s trucks use Suzuki's 657cc F6A three-cylinder under the cab floor. Suzuki sold more of them than anyone sold of anything else in the segment and supplied the same vehicle to Mazda as the Scrum, which is why parts and aftermarket support for this era are the best in the class.
Odometer reading 50,870 miles, about 81,900 km. For a 660cc Suzuki commercial engine that is an unremarkable figure within the range these vehicles are exported at.
Putting it to work
Four-wheel drive on a Carry means a selectable front axle on a truck that is otherwise rear-driven from an engine beneath the cab. Suzuki sold more of these than anyone sold of anything else in the class, which matters in a practical way: the running gear is the best-documented and best-supported in the kei segment, and the trucks turn up with the widest range of factory work options.
Mid-band pricing on a kei truck generally reflects a sound, unremarkable specification — the four-wheel-drive, five-speed, flat-bed combination that the majority of buyers are looking for in the first place.
Next steps
Because it was built in 1997, the federal 25-year exemption applies and the usual FMVSS and EPA conformity requirements fall away. We handle the import and title paperwork, and delivery is available to all fifty states. The figure is $5,700, and a message is all it takes to put it aside.
