HA4 Acty: the short version
Built from 1990 until the Acty was redesigned in 1999, the HA4 pairs four-wheel drive with Honda's 656cc E07A triple, mounted under the load floor instead of under the seats. Honda engineered the whole second generation to the 3.30-metre kei length limit in force at the time, so the cab is pushed right to the front bumper. That packaging is the reason an Acty bed is usable at all on a vehicle this short.
The odometer stands at 21,800 miles, which is about 35,100 km on the kilometre-marked gauge these were built with — the lower end of the range Japanese-market kei commercials show when they leave the domestic fleet.
Putting it to work
What a 4WD Acty gives you over the two-wheel-drive version is a front axle you can bring in when the surface stops cooperating — wet grass, loose gravel, a muddy field gate. The rest of the truck is unchanged: the same mid-mounted engine beneath the bed, the same low flat deck, the same cab that starts at the front bumper.
Rather than list a figure, we quote this one when you ask. That way the number you get already includes getting the truck to your address, which is the part most online prices leave out.
Paperwork and shipping
The 1998 build year puts it outside the 25-year window that restricts importing vehicles built to a foreign specification. Customs entry, import documentation and title work are all done here, and we arrange transport to any state. A walkaround clip sits with the photographs on this page. There is no list price on this one. Send us a message with your location and we will put a figure to it.
