About This 1998 Subaru Domingo
What you are looking at is a 1998 Subaru Domingo Aladdin PopTop Camper 4WD, Automatic, recorded as Polar White, held in our US inventory. It is fitted with an automatic transmission. The chassis plate reads FA8-016106.
Background on the FA8 Domingo
The Domingo is Subaru's answer to a question nobody else asked: a Sambar van stretched to take seven seats and a larger engine, sold from the 1980s until 1998. It keeps the Sambar's rear engine and four-wheel-drive hardware but steps outside the kei class with a 1.0 or 1.2-litre three-cylinder, which is what lets it carry three rows. Camper conversions of it were popular in Japan.
The recorded reading is 98,272 miles — somewhere around 158,200 km. Subaru built the rear-mounted EN07 for the commercial duty cycle these vehicles were sold into, and high five-figure readings are the norm rather than the exception.

The practical side
Japanese camper conversions are generally built by specialist coachbuilders on a commercial chassis supplied for the purpose, which means the running gear is mass-produced and well supported while the living accommodation behind the cab is effectively bespoke. No two are laid out quite the same way.
Japanese camper conversions in this band are coachbuilt accommodation on a mass-produced commercial chassis, which is an unusual combination: the mechanical side is well supported and the living side is effectively one-off.
