The HM2 Vamos, in context
HM2 is the four-wheel-drive Vamos, Honda's lifestyle van built on third-generation Acty mechanicals from 1999. The 656cc E07Z sits under the rear floor and drives all four wheels through a transfer unit behind it. Compared with the Acty Van it shares its bones with, the Vamos was sold with folding and reclining rear seats, more sound deadening and more glass — a van designed to be sat in rather than loaded.
The odometer has passed six figures at 157,700 miles, roughly 253,800 km. A kei engine of this family displaces 656cc and works harder per mile than a larger unit, which is simply how the class is engineered.
In use
Four-wheel drive under a van body is the specification for people who need the load bay dry and the vehicle capable of leaving a made road. The front axle is selectable from the cab, and the enclosed body adds nothing to the drivetrain's job beyond a little weight and a great deal of security.
The $5,000 to $8,000 band is the heart of the imported van market. For a working vehicle that has to keep tools dry and out of sight, it is the point where supply and specification meet.
To proceed
The 2001 build year puts it outside the 25-year window that restricts importing vehicles built to a foreign specification. We handle the import and title paperwork, and delivery is available to all fifty states. A walkaround video is included with this listing. Asking $5,490.
