Background on the HA4 Acty
HA4 is the four-wheel-drive Acty truck of 1990 to 1999 and the most numerous Acty on the US market. Honda put the 656cc E07A under the bed, nearly flat, and ran drive forward to the front axle from behind it — the opposite of almost everything else in the class. The result handles like a mid-engined vehicle, carries its load directly over the driven rear wheels, and keeps a completely flat deck floor because nothing is in the way of it.
This one reads 77,200 miles, about 124,200 km. Honda built the mid-mounted E07 engine for commercial use rather than for a passenger car, and figures in the high five digits are routine across the generation.
What you are buying
A four-wheel-drive Acty takes its front drive from a transfer unit behind the mid-mounted engine and runs it forward beneath the cab. The arrangement is the reverse of a conventional truck, and it leaves the load bed completely unobstructed. For yard work, a smallholding or a site road, the useful part is that the driven rear axle carries both the engine and the payload.
Below $5,000 you are buying age and mileage rather than specification. What you get for it is a road-registerable vehicle with a real bed and a real cab for less than a decent side-by-side costs.
How to take it
Because it was built in 1993, the federal 25-year exemption applies and the usual FMVSS and EPA conformity requirements fall away. You do not deal with the import paperwork; we do, and we organise delivery to your address. You can also watch the walkaround video above before deciding. Priced at $4,050; message us and we will hold it for you.
