The DK51B Scrum Dump explained

DK51B is the dump-bodied Mazda Scrum of the 1990s — a Suzuki Carry tipper sold through Mazda dealers. The B in the code marks the factory hydraulic dump bed, and the running gear beneath it is Suzuki's 657cc F6A truck chassis. Because these were badge-engineered rather than re-engineered, service parts are shared with the equivalent Carry.

Shown on the clock: 31,305 miles, near enough 50,400 km. Suzuki's F6A and K6A three-cylinders were produced in enormous numbers across the Carry, Every and Jimny ranges, so the model line's service history as a whole is unusually well documented.

In use

A tipper with low range is a deliberate working combination. The hydraulic bed does the unloading; the second reduction in the transfer case does the climbing, so the truck can carry a full load up a slope at the pace the terrain allows. One without the other leaves half the job to the driver.

Above $20,000 a kei dump truck is at the top of its category: the heaviest factory tipper specifications, often with a power take-off, low range and a locking differential together. Very few of these configurations were exported at all.
