About This 1999 Daihatsu Hi-Jet
We have this 1999 Daihatsu Hi-Jet EFI DLI 4WD, 2Hi-4Hi, 5MT, ***Left Hand Drive***, recorded as White on the ground in the United States. It runs a manual gearbox. Recorded against chassis S210P-0000764.
The S210-series Hijet, in context
S210 is the four-wheel-drive Hijet of 1999 to 2004, built to the post-1998 kei dimensions with the fuel-injected, twin-cam 659cc EF. Daihatsu offered this chassis in more factory configurations than any rival: flat bed, deck van, panel van, scissor-lift, hydraulic tipper and power-take-off driven bodies all left the line on the S210. Low-range transfer cases and locking rear differentials were available on the work specifications.
The reading is 31,308 miles, which converts to roughly 50,400 km. Daihatsu's EF three-cylinder was fitted to the Hijet across two decades and several body styles, so the engine family has a very long track record behind it.

What it is for
The Hijet's strength is the breadth of what Daihatsu built on the chassis. The same cab-over truck left the factory as a flat bed, a tipper, a scissor lift, a mobile kitchen and a dozen other things, all engineered around a 660cc engine under the cab floor and a frame rated for the kei class payload.
The $12,000 to $20,000 band is where specialist kei trucks sit — low-range transfer cases, locking differentials, factory work bodies, late chassis and genuinely low readings. These are not volume trucks and they do not come up often.
