A little context

Honda built the Acty as its entry in Japan's kei commercial class, and its defining trait is the engine's location: it sits amidships beneath the load bed rather than under the cab. The result drives like a mid-engined vehicle even though it looks like a plain cab-over, and it leaves the bed floor low and flat.

Kei vehicles are a formal class in Japanese law rather than a marketing segment: length, width, height and engine displacement are all capped by statute, and manufacturers engineer to those limits exactly. That is why these trucks feel so much larger inside than their footprint suggests.
