A little context on the HA4 Acty
The HA4 is the 4WD member of Honda's second-generation Acty family, produced through the 1990s alongside the rear-drive HA3. Its 656cc E07A sits amidships and horizontal, which is why the bed is low and the cab has no engine tunnel. Honda used a part-time system on most HA4s, selected from the cab, so the truck runs in rear drive until the front axle is called on. Mechanically it is a simple, well-documented truck with wide parts support.
The odometer stands at 7,517 miles, which is about 12,100 km on the kilometre-marked gauge these were built with — the lower end of the range Japanese-market kei commercials show when they leave the domestic fleet.
The configuration
Whatever the drive configuration, the Acty's defining layout is the same: the engine lies flat beneath the load bed, between the axles, rather than under the cab or ahead of it. That is why the deck floor is low, why the cab has no engine hump, and why the truck turns in like something considerably more expensive than a 660cc commercial.
Above $12,000 a kei truck is being priced on specification rather than transport. A 1994 Honda Acty Firefighter RealTime 4WD, Mid-Engine, 5MT in this band is normally carrying hardware or a configuration that the ordinary working trucks do not.
How the purchase works
Built in 1994, it sits the far side of the 25-year federal import cut-off. Customs entry, import documentation and title work are all done here, and we arrange transport to any state. It is listed at $16,900. Get in touch to put a hold on it.
