About This 1997 Suzuki Carry
Landed and available: this 1997 Suzuki Carry Truck, white over its original panels, ready to go out to you. Power reaches the road as 2WD, via an automatic gearbox. Chassis DC51T-439851 on the identification plate.
The DC51T Carry, in context
The DC51T is the rear-drive Carry truck of 1991 to 1999. Suzuki put the 657cc F6A three-cylinder under the seats in a cab-over layout, which is the conventional kei truck arrangement and the reason the Carry has the longest bed in the class for its length. The Carry nameplate has run continuously since 1961, so parts and aftermarket support for this generation are about as good as the segment gets.
Shown on the clock: 28,600 miles, near enough 46,000 km. Suzuki's F6A and K6A three-cylinders were produced in enormous numbers across the Carry, Every and Jimny ranges, so the model line's service history as a whole is unusually well documented.

Putting it to work
The rear-drive Carry is the volume-selling version of the best-selling kei truck, with the engine under the cab driving the back axle through a short propshaft. It is the lightest configuration Suzuki offered and the cheapest to keep, and it leaves the full bed length — the longest in the class for the overall dimensions — completely usable.
Below $5,000 you are buying age and mileage rather than specification. What you get for it is a road-registerable vehicle with a real bed and a real cab for less than a decent side-by-side costs.
